B2 licensed Engineer

Was wondering if anyone here has a b2 license.

Being 18 with not great qualifications i dont know what to do with myself.

Mum got told about someone who was like me and then went and got a B1?

Was wondering what it is like as a career.

Costs something like £25k to put my self for it so dont want to find it crap after ive done it.

i've almost completed a B1 apprenticeship, and i would tell you to think very carefully before you commit to anything. difficult to say what the job market will be like in a few years, but at the moment i cannot find a job anywhere at all, due to having fairly limited experience (about 8 months worth). experience is absolutely everything in aircraft maintenance, a company won't look twice at you if you have the exam passes but have never touched an aircraft

Have you tried just volunteer to work for free?

Was my thought as to what you had to do once you completed it?

that 8 months experience is almost entirely made up of unpaid work! there's not much more unpaid work i can manage now my student loan is running out

im probably coming across very negative about aerospace engineering. in reality, it is awesome. to me, there isnt many better jobs than one where you get to play with ~£60 million pounds worth of kit. some of the aircraft systems are fascinating, and the quality of engineering is second to none. definitely try to get some work experience in an MRO, you'll either instantly love it, or not be particularly bothered by it
