An unexpected Bamford Rose experience..
Discussion
For anybody that is about to read this, it is important that I state from the outset that this is about a positive experience of Bamford Rose and will probably make me sound like a BR "Fan Boy" (which TBH wouldn't really bother me). So for anyone that is interested please read on, and for all the haters please ignore… Or if you absolutely must, then I guess, feel free…
As most on here know, a few of us recently went away on a road trip through France to the JLC Factory in Geneva (Big thanks to the organisers and attendees for making this such a great trip)…
On the first day of our journey, I encountered a pretty concerning warning message (Urgent Service Required) requesting that I slow down immediately. This had me very worried and thankfully we were approaching an unscheduled stop. This was a new (to me) error message and the warning triangle was red instead of the usual yellow. As Yeti was our team lead to Beaune, I decided to mentioned this to him, as it was looking likely that I would have to split off from the group in order complete the remainder of the journey at a much slower pace. To my surprise, he informed me that Mike and Adrian from Bamford Rose had sent along an OBD reader with him, in case any cars on the trip encountered issues.. As I had used one before, I was able to download the error code and decided that it would also be worth erasing the error message to see if it reoccured. This to me would indicate an actual issue rather than a typical one-off gremlin. I continued the journey at our normal (and legal) pace making it to Beaune with no further occurrence of the warning. While enjoying our dinner at the Patriarche cellars, Yeti sent the downloaded error code to Mike, and he responded (the very same evening!) that it was nothing to worry about unless of course, it reoccured.. This really gave me the peace of mind I needed to enjoy the remainder of what turned out to be an EPIC (and mechanically at least
) trouble free journey.
I felt it was important to post this experience as many would not have known or realised that, although Bamford Rose were not with us on our journey, they were providing support from afar.
For me, this was above and beyond, so a big thank you to Bamford Rose!

Good stuff!
Sorry to jump in on your thread like this, but just wanted to point out that I dont think there are any BR haters if that's what you implied. Apologies if I misinterpreted.
Just wanted to point this out as I started the " cheaper alternative to BR" thread, and definitely don't want to get labelled a BR
hater.
My only intention was to search for a more competitive deal.

Hi scotpak, thanks for posting and giving me the opportunity to clarify a few things... Sorry to jump in on your thread like this, but just wanted to point out that I dont think there are any BR haters if that's what you implied. Apologies if I misinterpreted.

Firstly, this post is not in response to any other threads/posts on here.. Frankly I would have posted this up as soon as I got back from the trip (possibly even while on the trip), but taking a week off work meant that I had a lot of catching up to do before having the time to post again..

Secondly, "haters" was/is a strong word to use, and I can see that it would be easy for people to assume that I was implying "BR haters" which I did not.. I actually meant "general haters"?? A select few that tend to only have negative things to say, and then attempt to justify it as an opinion to which everyone is entitled. My personal thought is that although we are free to express our opinions, we are still ultimately responsible for any negative impact/affect it could have on the recipient.. Again, this is not aimed at you just clearing up my thoughts on these <insert a more appropriate term other than hater here..> So I'm getting/falling of my high horse now..

Finally, competition is good for everyone, as it will hopefully lead to more products becoming available in the market place. I and many others on here would be interested in your experience, dyno results, and long term tests. So keep the updates coming..

I am confused at Marcel's name change - what on earth were you lot smoking on the tour ?
Wouldn't you like to know...
At least a couple of name changing events during the trip.. Maybe if you attended the/another D&D session you might find the reason quite interesting...NeinFondue said:
