Newbie, potential buyer of SL 500 1990 ish

Hi All,

Newbie, that is considering buying a SL 500 circa 1990 ish. I've read so far that it is great tutonic engineering at it's best and a very reliable and bullet proof car, surely this can't be 100% true ?!

Just after some advice as to key 'golden' rules to check when looking at potential cars to purchase.
