I have GAZ Golds on the back of my Chim 400. The rear is very hard and adjusting the damper setting makes no difference because the spring is too firm and so there's very little travel for the damper to operate in. I suspect that 400lb's have been fitted in error though I can't be certain about that. I have a spare set of 300lb springs that I could use. The front is running on 400lb and is firm but okay.

Is 300lb okay for the rear? They are definitely softer than my current rear springs

Standard was 275/325 iirc which is too soft.

A good compromise that I had is +20% which would be 330/390 so if you have a set of 300s you won't be far out.

400's fitted to the rear. Must get round to swapping the 375 fronts.

I have 400lb front and 325lb rear springs with newly refurbished GAZ Nickel dampers.

The dampers are set up way too soft with a best guess initial setup of 11clicks front and 13clicks rear, but the car still handled surprisingly well on its first run to Chatsworth on Sunday.

I'd try the rear 4 clicks less than the front, maybe 18 front and 14 rear from soft and then go up or down 2 at a time all the way round.

400 front 325 rear for me. Great for road work but still a little soft for track use, a good compromise tho'.

My 450/400 setup is as hard as I would go for road but on the track I often feel at speed that it is still too soft.

I dial up my GAZ Monos about 5 clicks from my road settings, (about +4R and 8F) for the track and that keeps things under control.

For track only I would go stiffer still!
