Bit of talk about some of the cars in the Club Race Pics thread so thought it might be beneficial to have a dedicated thread for those interested.

Anyone going to this? I'm really looking forward to it.

Hope the weather is a bit warmer that last year.

Myself and the wife have done the weekend the previous couple of years, staying in a local b & b. Great weekend, amazing cars and good atmosphere.

We are going on Sunday this, but bringing our 10 month old to her first race meeting. Really looking forward to it!

Saturday and Sunday this year. Very much looking forward to it. Plus it's BH Monday the following day so I can play racing for two days and still waste a day being hungover!

I shall be attending all three days, I've been going since it started in 2011 and it's been great every year.

Looking forward to seeing some photos posted on this thread too.

A friend has just posted on Facebook that there are 2 Air Ambulances on scene after the Pre 66 Touring Car race was red flagged.

I hope it's not as serious as it sounds.

Rest of the day has been knocked on te head. Going home now, was looking forward to the group C's again. That crash must have been bad, they're still clearing it up!

The meeting has now been abandoned. Hopefully due to Armco damage etc and nothing more serious.

Donington have now confirmed that Christian Devereux has died as a result of injuries sustained in this accident.

My thoughts are with his friends & family.

What car was he driving? I couldn't quite keep track of what was missing from the track each lap.... it wasn't the sky blue Mini was it?

According to Donington's statement he was driving car 67, a Mini Cooper S.

Donington Historic Festival Statement: It is with great regret that the directors of Donington Park Racing Limited, operators of Donington Park Circuit, have to report that, following an accident in a race for historic touring cars held as part of the race meeting taking place on Sunday 5th May, the driver of car number 67 (a 1965 Mini Cooper S), Christian Devereux of Chiswick, London succumbed to the injuries sustained at approximately 16.30 hours.

The organising race club, HSCC and Donington Park Racing Limited, together with the circuit’s medical and emergency services, will now be co-operating with both the Leicestershire Police and motorsport’s Governing Body, the Motor Sports Association, in order to determine the cause of this tragic accident.
