After some valuable advice on a previous thread I have purchased a 944 S2 as my everyday car.

Quite pleased with the spec which is as follows:

'89 registered with 93000 miles
Guards Red with full grey leather
Genuine cup alloys with crests
Later bridge spoiler
Ex-main dealer demo so has air-con
Recent cambelt, sprocket, chain, tensioner etc with JZ Machtech

Only glitch so far has been a waterpump failure (intially thought it was the thermostat). Whilst in bits I had all the idler tensioners replaced as the garage advised these looked well past their sell-by date.

Looking for some advice on suspension upgrades.
I want to maintain the excellent ride, but make everything a little tauter. There is a small possiblity that I may do the occasional trackday. I was thinking of Koni adjustables. Are these any good & are they available with uprated springs at the std ride height (don't want to fiddle with the torsion bars)??

Many thanks

Thom

Try the single adjustable Koni shocks with base 968 CS springs. That combination is an excellent compromise, IMO.

For the rear the original M030 option Konis are still readily available via OPCs. Recently replaced mine at a cost of approx £65 each. A noticeable improvement over the original 90000 mile items which were completely knackered. I happen to have the part number to hand in case you want to check - 951 333 032 04.
I have also replaced all the anti-rollbar bushes front and back which has tightened things up a little, with no impact on ride quality. You could go a stage further and source 968CS rollbars, which apparently make a big difference, again without sacrificing ride quality.

Second hand anti-roll bars would be my first choice: the 944 had them in many different diameters, and a slightly thicker one would help and would be a staright swap (new bushes also necessary, however)
