London Night Rider - 8th June - anyone in?

Going for a quick blast around London on the night of the 8th June - 100km of mostly flat terrain, should be a nice ride. I'm entering with a bunch of workmates and my usual co-conspirator PHer Eddh, some of whom will find it much more of a challenge than others, but all of whom at least own a bike, which is a good start!

Can't wait to see what it's like to go past all the landmarks in the dead of night. I've driven round London at 2am before and it was fantastic and a bit eerie.

We're raising money for Practical Action in order to enter - I feel a bit guilty approaching people for money for such a puny distance, so I'm restricting my begging to people for whom I've done favours or who don't know what to buy me for my birthday. Of much more importance is that whoever raises the least on our team will have to do a forfeit on the night, for which I'm thinking either Boris Bike or Mankini.... any other suggestions?

I've done it three times, twice with the other half and once on my own to see how quick I could do it. If you're going for it it's harder work than you think. Nothing serious hill wise but the traffic is worse than you'd imagine in places and the amount of stopping and starting for lights and junctions mean you never get into a good rhythm. I expecting to clock a good bit under four hours but ended up about 4.10 I think. It was more fun as a steady tourist ride with company, there are some good sights!
