Anyone read the ID cards idea from Blunkett yet?
Looks like this will die on its arse harder than the snoopers charter.
Its been dressed up as an entitlement card (public services) but also used to ID all these crims, asylum seekers and benefit scroungers (alledgedly).
However the police say its not IDing it actually convicting that's the problem, asylum seekers already have an ID document without which they can't even have a shit and they already tried the benefit one and scrapped it, saying that 20 million people computerised database was too hard to manage. (so over 60 million's OK then?)
Comments anyone?

Do you have a bank card, or WHSmith card etc, cos they are all ID cards after a kind. Don't get too paranoid about it,I've carried a ID for 22+ years and don't worry about it at all.
Of course if it gets linked up to some kind of gps or tracking system THEN you'd better start worrying!! MoJo.

We already carry driving licence, bank cards, have an NI number - why do we need more? It'll only be the crims that win fromthis - another nice piece of kit for them to forge and use to defraud us with.

Why do they have to meddle with everything?? Cant they just leave us alone?
