Hi Guys,

Thinking about chopping in my 530d Beemer for a RX 300 worth about 5/6k.

Heard these cars are pretty bulletproof. True?

Hi, my brother has one, and has had it for 4 years and in this time nothing has gone wrong other the consumerables. In fact he was considering a newer car and has not even considered anything else.
Only downside is they are petrol only so a bit heavy on fuel.
Usual advice is by on condition.

A guy at work bought one & I looked at buying one. They are a poor 4 x 4 if that is what you want & very bland. But very well equipped & very reliable. Odd electrical glitches like music & sat navs. Be warned they can be very expensive to fix if anything significant fails.

Basically I wanted a full blown 4 x 4. At the time I had a Jag S-Type which didn't go anywhere in the snow. So I was looking for something that would be great in the snow. I live in surburbia but my my elderly mother lives 2 hours away in the sticks. So I ended up with a Jeep Grand Cherokee, which is now on General AT tyres & will go anywhere. So far 26 months on been very impressed!
