Can anyone help.

I've checked the FAQ on G50 gearboxes but there doesn't seem to be any details on the G50/20, are they available somewhere?

Many thanks

The second number (G50 xx..) is the transmission model.

The first number is a casing part number. This one is part of the casting. The second number is punched in.

I think the number should start G5002. But I may be wrong!!

Phil,

It's meant to be a G50/20 but I'm also not sure of the numbering system for 6 spd hence my post.

Please tell me I'm not alone on the G50 6 spd

I know there are others.......

The second number is what you are looking for.
G5020....... Is just what it says G50/20.

I also have that box.

Excellent news. I did think that would be the case but hey, doesn't harm to check.

Did they all come with LSD? Mine has but wasn't sure if all 6 spd boxes did.

I think the 1 in G50201xxxx means it has the LSD.
Mine does not.

I'm using Comma SX75w90 Semi Synthetic Spec API: GL5.

I'm not declaring this as 'The' product to use it's just what was on the shelf in my local motor factors.

There have been many threads on this with such diverse opinions ranging from 'Red Bull' to 'chip fat' I just went for something middle of the road.

Nothings broken in there yet but I’ve not destroyed any red suspension bushes yet either so am obviously not trying hard enough.

I'm using exactly the same g/box oil, and can also report no problems so far (but only 415 hp to do the damage in my case). I have, however, destroyed several red suspension bushes.
