Is that really right? To my mind the object is to prevent our right hand drive beams dazzling oncoming drivers when we drive on the right side of the road. When correctly adjusted for UK driving the headlights are directed down and to the left when on dipped beam and to the left and straight ahead when on full beam. That being so how does blocking off the right hand side of the headlight achieve the desired aim? Surely it is the left hand side which needs to be blocked off to prevent dazzle for oncoming drivers.
