Hi guys - I'm transferring my personal number plate to the Tuscan but my TVR is at a body shop getting a respray and I'm looking to get new plates made up. As it's a 6character number plate Demon plates have said I can get a legal plate as small as 370mm in width - what is the ideal width to fit the front pepperpot grill mounting as I can't measure it at the mo? =/ Also would the rear plate expose anything if it is also less wide than standard plates?

Many thanks for any help!

Hi Darren.
Not much help but keen to see the responses. Normal plate does seem a bit big.

I noticed before I sent it away that the plate holder region on the front where there isn't the holes is smaller than a standard plate but didn't realise just how small I could legally have my plate due to it being 6 characters so may aswell choose the most appropriate size..I think it was about 17inches but would be nice to be sure.

I'm also not sure about the rear plate if it is just flat or if anything would be exposed if I get a smaller plate.

Cheers!

If no one else knows then ill go out and measure mine for you.

I basically cut my standard plate down to the same size as the bit with no holes. The letters on the plate are literally right at the edges but it looks so so much better. As the font is totally legal I haven't been pulled yet for it (if infact is is not legal anyway).

The legislation says it's meant to be 11mm gap at edges if you care..god forbid any police officer is that fussy!

Nothing under the rear plate so long as its not held on with mastic, or screws to wide to allow a small plate to cover the holes.

Going to go for 370mmx102mm on the rear plate then - front I'm thinking about 430mm x 102 - can anyone confirm if 430mm is the right width to fit the flat space on the pepperpot please?

Many thanks!!

Yes, the mounting area is 430mm wide on the grill.
