Tattoo removal...
Discussion
Anyone had it done?
I'm trying to get an idea if its worth going through - it seems sometimes you can still see the tattoo after the treatment course, just faded - this doesn't look much (if any) better than the original?
I have a few I'd like to get rid of (got a bit carried away as an 18 yr old) from Chinese symbol around 1"sq to bigger tribal. All black.
If anyone has before / after pics or any advice on best types of treatments, costs etc I'd be grateful
Cheers
Tim

A friend of mine had a lot removed from his navy days. It cost a bomb back then, but from what I've seen, worked well. As he was getting them removed, you could see the treatment removing the pigments. Now, I haven't noticed anything that sticks out, but then I haven't been looking.
I'm not sure, but think he doesn't tan well where they were?

Cheers, did see that, thought the question might have got a bit lost in the thread though.T1547 said:
Interesting, can you see any trace of the original? Presume he went for laser treatment?
He was one of the first in the queue, when laser removal became available. Like I said, it cost him thousands back then. I gather it is a lot cheaper and a lot more refined now?He had several treatments for each area, and initially, you could see where the laser had fired. It looked like a sort of dot matrix scan if you remember those? As the treatment progressed, the ink was burnt away. I saw him last summer in short sleeves, and didn't even think about him having tatts in the past, there is certainly nothing that drew my attention?
All I know for certain, is, he is happy with the outcome.
My mates were on his arms. He wanted to join the met police, and they used it as an excuse to say no (he was a long term special, so why pay somebody for something he was doing for free). He did serve after the removal.
Nowadays, he realises it was all b
ks, and nothing really to worry about, but I suspect he wouldn't feel that way if he still had them?
Based on no experience whatever, I would suggest you use a reputable company as with all procedures of this nature.

Basically there are 2 methods of removal. 1. Laser or 2. Eraze....google Tattooeraze..it is a method where effectively there trace the original tattoo with a non toxic chemical which forces the ink to the top and it then forms a scab and falls off. It has very good results but like anything it costs plus there are no guarantees and it hurts. It's pays your money and takes your choice. Do research it and if you look at tattooeraze here in the UK they will have an approved users somewhere near you.

My wife's niece had a tattoo lasered off. She said the dark pigments were removed fairly easily but the red was harder to get rid of.
Yrp black is easy, i think yellow and green is the hardest to remove. Prior to treatment you should be given a rough estimate of number of treatments and cost, so get an appointment and go from there.garos said:

Some seriously scary reviews of this stuff online. Thanks to the person who posted the link of the other thread on here with the same title - looks like SK:N have good reviews and laser is definitely the way to go.
If and when I have it done I'll post up some before/during/after shots..
