As in title. Which of these three pilsner beers is regarded the best in the UK? Or has the best 'image'?
-Grolsch
-Jupiler
-Stella Artois
Or is Stella the only one known, because it is also brewed in your neck of the woods?
is jupiler available in the uk ? if so where ? i had this in france a good few years ago and really enjoyed it . i drink stella but it does not have a good reputation. -Grolsch
-Jupiler
-Stella Artois

I am from Holland and live in Belgium and for a favour an English friend is doing me I wanted to buy him some beer. These are my three favourite pilsner beers, which are all readily available in Belgium/the Netherlands.
The Stella brewed here in Belgium is different and apparently way better than the UK Stella.
My question is not about the availability, but which one is regarded the best in the UK.
Thanks in advance,
Vincent

I've never heard of Jupiler.
Stella is marketed as a premium product but is fairly ubiquitous and is really the "go to" strong lager of choice (though it has dropped in strength recently) and has the nickname "wifebeater" with associated reputation.
Grolsch is less widely available than Stella with a better image and out of the two is probably considered the better product.

Shouldn't your question be 'what beer does he like to drink'?The Stella brewed here in Belgium is different and apparently way better than the UK Stella.

As an some times enthusiastic beer drinker I would say you can do better than any of these with a nice local beer that you simply can't get in the UK. Last time I was in the UK Stella was a sort of Ford Mondeo - perfectly fine but not great, Grolsch is a mid range 3 series - solid and enjoyable, but not special, Jupiler would be something like a Toyota Crown - have vaguely heard of it and it's probably ok, but not something I'm going to ship in from overseas.
When I used to go to Belgium quite regularly I used to get a whole variety of various local beers where possible.

Yes it should. But it kind of spoils the surprise by asking him.(as far as he hasn't read this thread that is.) I've only seen him drink Le Mans 'camping' beer, so in that regard everything will be an approvement, I guess.Because of the bad reputation of Stella in the UK (I've even heard of the 'wifebeater' label before, just forgot about it, and I live in Belgium!), the rather obscurity of Jupiler in the UK, I'll go for the Grolsch, I think.
If there was some way I'd get bottles inside the Le Mans campsites, I'd take some Trappist or Duvel, but that is tempting it. Cans of Grolsch it is.

teee. I prefer Jupiler, but I'll have any of them over a Fosters or Carlsberg/Carling.
