Any pilots on PH?
Discussion
A lad I used to work with was a first officer on the Dash 8 - the airline he flew for also had Saabs. He told me the Saab captains get first dibs on the stewardesses, then the captains of the Dash 8, then the first officer of the Saab, and he got the dregs.
That is the question you were going to ask, right?

Apparently the Dash 8 is an awful thing, absolutely hated by the people who fly it. Anyhow. I digress.
I flew the dash 8 300 for 12 months back in 2003. It was a delightful aircraft to fly, a real 'pilots' aircraft.
Very capable turbo-prop with amazing short field performance and handling.
I've never flown the Q-400 but have never known anyone who has flown it slag it off either.
I know there were some engine reliability and landing gear issues with it when new to service but
its gone on to prove very popular with domestic carriers around the world.
I then moved onto the EMB145 (which I hated) and then the B757 & B767, but I have to say, some of the best flying I have ever had to date was on the dash 8

What's wrong with the Dash 8 - and how does it compare with other DHC products, like the Dash 7, Caribou, Buffalo etc.
Speaking of bad landings in DHC products, can anyone trump this?
