Hi All,

I was just hoping for some thoughts on this car. As the weather is improving I am getting the urges for something a little more saucy!!

http://www2.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201...

Looking for an S in dark ish color with sports exhaust and manual.

Cheers!

Looks great, seems to tick all the boxes from an equipment perspective, I would check history, to ensure it has been well looked after..

Looks a good spec. You might just want to clarify exactly what "sports exhaust" is fitted, because it's not the Porsche system. A genuine switchable PSE system is a very desirable extra, but this one may sound good anyway. You wouldn't be able to get a Porsche warranty if it had an aftermarket exhaust system either.

Another thing to note is the sports suspension instead of PASM. You really want to test drive it properly to make sure that works for you because it can be firm!

I'm amazed by how much these cars are retaining their value. I sold my 05 C2S for £33k 3 years ago. Good news values aren't sliding more.

Looks to be a nice clean car with a good spec and reasonably priced.

I guess the reference to the May 2013 MOT is a typo.

As above, though, keep in mind that with non OE suspension and exhaust, you won't be able to put a Porsche warranty on it.

Why do you guys think it isn't a PSE?

The PSE on a 997 has smaller diameter inner exhaust pipes than the outers. I also can't see a switch for one on the dash.

Any car from RSJ is going to be a good one - just do a search on here to gauge their reputation for yourself.
If this one ticks the boxes for you then go for it.

From my experience you carnt go wrong with rsj and it looks a great example, though personally Id find one without the ceramics and powerkit for a lower price.

Is worth considering, at the level youre are getting to the top of gen 1 C2S money, gen 2 C2S can be had from the low 40s ..though not with sort of spec, depends on your budget of course.

Enjoy the buying, its almost as fun as owning!

You could be right, this one looks like good value and seems to have most of what I want:

Not sure about the dealer though......

That last link points to Sascron. I bought a Audi A3. 3.2V6 from them and at time were in a smaller garage but had some nice cars including some nice Porsche 911's. They tended to have high end German marks in there. I did have a drama with my gearbox a few months later on which the Warranty wouldnt pay out for due to it having a previous repair, but not done by these guys i hasten to add, which paid out myself to sort. But this isnt a really a reflection on the garage just the 2nd hand car i bought off them. They took my Impreza off me as Part-Ex which was about to need a new clutch and other stuff anyway and i still got a good deal with it. They must be doing alright as the new premises look a lot larger etc. But as others have said its the car your buying not the salesperson or garage. Personally i would go for the RSJ car as they are who supplied my present car and thats been fine.

Possibly one of the best spec'd 997 C2S's I have ever seen! Has absolutely everything you could ever want... PCCB, PSE, X51, Chrono... and in special order olive!

Only thing possibly missing... BOSE?

The Gen 2 come out in '08 or '09 so would this '08 Gen 1 Olive car be much less than a similar Gen 2 which'll have the DFI engine and refreshed interior?

Really like the gen 2 cars but a little out of budget I think, the one from RSJ is pushing things a bit!

It does seem odd to have every option available but no the BOSE. That said my Cayenne has the BOSE upgrade and it really isn't that good!

Can I get peoples views on if it is worth looking at a Gen 2 car? As others have said you can get a gen 2 car for early 40's, no idea if it is worth the extra!
