I think Porsche will release something special to mark their 50th birthday. I'm not entirely sure what route they'll go down. Whether it'd would be another Sport Classic style thing but with more inspiration from a 1963 911, or if they'll release a totally wild 991 911 GT3 RS50 4.2.

What do you think?

Something simple and pure would be nice. Maybe a CS style in white only with red graphics?

No graphics Molly, remember it has to reflect the early classic graphic free 901, maybe a little tiny decal somewhere and a brass plate in the cabin.

Guys... it's 50years of the 911, not Porsche which was founded in 1931.

"....Porsche released a highly equipped 911 Carrera to celebrate the 911's 40th anniversary, and it is likely to follow the same formula for the 50th celebration model.

It is expected to be built in extremely limited numbers; only 1963 units of the 40th anniversary were built as a nod to the 911's birth year, all of which were painted in an exclusive GT metallic silver previously only available on the Carrera GT supercar.

The cars also featured lowered suspension, a sports exhaust system, increased power and a special build plaque in the cockpit..."

Likely to do something since it started with the 30 Jahre 964 Celebration in 1993, then the 40 Jahre 996.

Didn't they offer something hyper limited in the Porsche family green? Seem to remember reading about someone having the only one coming to the UK in Porsche Post, so maybe it was a club special?

That was Brewster Green. They made 12 available to members and were keeping one for the museum.

Don't know about a limited edition but I got a nice shiny mailshot from Porsche today with a celebratory pamphlet book type thing.
Which was nice.

How about -

Brewster Green
Brown interior
Wide Turbo body
GT3 engine
Manual gearbox

I guess the real world version would be C2S engine plus X52 and PDK in a standard wide body.

I reckon we'll just get an "extras special" like the Black Series and suchlike.

Regardless I hope that they do something for it. I'm sure they will, it's a marketing opportunity not to be missed!
