I work offshore doing inspection on an oil rig, recently I was looking through the drawers in the office when I found some old camera gear.
A bit of asking about confirmed that no-one really cared where it went, so it's coming home with me!

I now have an EOS-1 35mm body, 80-200 f2.8L, 50mm macro lens and a canon flash.
There are even 5 batteries for the camera and it seems to be working. Not bad for about 15 years in a drawer.

The camera body and 50mm have obviously had quite a hard life and will need a really good clean, the 80-200 looks to be in good conditon.

If the quality of lenses is at all related to the weight of them it'll be epic!

It should be interesting, it feels amazingly similar to my 7D to hold.

The 80-200 L is the majic drain-pipe, a very nice piece of glass and still commands a good price. The 50 macro has much better and capable replacements but makes a nice portrate lens on a crop body. The film Eos1 is worth very little nut they do see on eBay.

Magic drainpipe is an awesome lens, not sure it has USM focusing? But apart from that very well rated optically, nice find!

The 80-200 2.8 is an absolutely lovely lens, handles better than the 70-200 2.8 I feel. Used mine day-in day-out for years before retiring it for the 70-200 IS, but keep it as a backup lens. Gets used quite often still, especially if I don't want the 'big white lens' look. IIRC Canon don't officially support it any more so spares could be an issue if it breaks.

Having had a play with the magic drainpipe without film in the camera it does feel good. It's in good condition, the only sign of wear is on the filter. It's even in the huge leather box. Spares may be hard to come by but this one looks good for the foreseeable.

The 50mm macro was obviously the lens of choice (as you would expect taking pictures of defects and pipes) and it looks like its had a hard life. Focus is really noisy and its marked all over.

There is another lens, not a canon one. It's a zeiss macro that looks new. I'll get some pics when I get a chance.

I also have a 70-200 f4, but I think I'll give the magic drainpipe a run before deciding what to do with it.
I don't currently use this range that much but if I do move to full frame I think I'd get a lot more use out of it.
