Hi all,
I thought of using a Vixen or early Tuscan as my daily commute to work. 8 miles to go and 8 miles back each day. For really cold days or when the Tiv does not want to work, I can go the same way in a tram or my Audi A6.

Any ideas, comments, suggestions to my plan?

Ford engine/box and triumph drivetrain (all used on "normal" as well as sports cars) should mean there's no reason not to, and , looking at the 60s adverts for Vixens, they were pitched at the MGB/Spitfire/GT6 market - ie "Everyday" sports cars rather than weekend toys, but any decent mileage may mean that, some day soon, the front suspension may need rebuilding, and some of those bits are a little scarce (Standard eight?). Also, some attention to waterproofing and the import of a heater which actually does something rather than make a pretty whirring noise might be advisable...

I had the use of my mates. Bad choice, steamed up, heater was sh!t, filled up with water. Was a slag to start. Great car though. Go for it.

Ah, the damp right leg and de-icer on the inside...

(but a decent heater would be easy to transplant)

I did it for 3 years back in the 80's - 25 miles each way. Made the morning trek so much fun - I now do it whenever I can in my S.

Go for it.
