Any cheap track days coming up ? I fancy a day on the track ..Just found out I have track day cover but I have to give details of the event at least seven days before ,they send me the relevant paperwork for each track day.

Sounds like a bit of hassle but worth it for £267 with all the mods declared ..

I have to check so can't confirm until the morning Daz but if it's the same one as my mates doing, it's a bit mickey mouse but essentially you can get 15 min sessions out on the circuit during the day, it's defo the same meet, my mates doing auto test in a 1.6 ford KA same day, says I can have a go for a tenner.
I've been down on ragging my car so have been reluctant to consider it but now I've read the flyer it looks a good day out. I will talk with my friend and post you. Daz it's really cheap I think but want to confirm so before telling you!!! I'll find out how many sessions you can book on the track, Mallery is so small its easy to remember! Cool little paddock, Cosy like.
Alun.

I`m a little confused why do some organisations proof of trackday cover ? If it is required I have to contact my insurance company and give details of the event and company which will have to be regulated . no less than 7 days before.

The insurance then send me the relevant paperwork for the day .

Its free so I thought it would work for me for the odd track day .

I've never done a TD where they ask for cover.

It doesn't bother me if I have cover or not.

Generally TD organisers are very strict and keep people under control.

Having done many TDs I have never witnessed any vehicle to vehicle contact, only a couple of cars hitting the tyre wall when being over zealous!

The control is in your right foot smile

That looks like good value to me Peter, Daz it's going to be packed at Mallery that day, it's £20 per session but lots of road cars will be there, if it was me I'd do Abingdon. Four sessions at Mallery for about the same money after signing on fee!

Yeah the more I look the more I see! It's heartbreaking, even my tail pipes are full of sharpe edges!

My car looks like it's done 60.000 but it's only done 5,000 since re spray.

I didn't think it would bother me but it fecking does. The mirrors are battered, wind screen bust, alley rad, mmmmm

If I could find an Airport track that was clean I'd go there all day.

Race tracks are lovely and clean but you have to watch the barriers coming at you!!! Stone chips or smashed to smithereens, there's always a risk.

I'm put off by the state of my car after Marham, it's thousands of pounds of damage, blokes left there with massive cracks in there windscreens, thats bks really.

It was an extreme case but my car got mullered.

At the time petrol runs through the vains so you hammer on, a few did a sighting lap and went straight home!

Daz the fact is wherever you go there's risks attached.

Abingdon might be better, no huge jets pulling stones out the ground and onto the Tarmac, I've looked at going there. I have to admit I'm not going anywhere that does what Marham did. It's not worth it. If I had an old car for track only then the airfield days offer something different and very exciting.

Blyton park Daz that's the place I reckon. Again ex runway but with a lovely looking bit of blackstuff layed down, loads of freedom to explore the car as it's wide open, I also like the fact it looks quite narrow, really gets you doing stuff at and in the right time, one good line and you better keep to it.

Yep I'm going to go have a look at the place and see if I can see/ hear pebble dashing. If not its a must do!

The thing is with these wide open places, you can relax and just let the car go, really nailing it, learned so much, there pretty good at the fast stuff these tivs until you want to stop, lol. Another day at an airfield then I'd be safe around all the good circuits in the country I'd know what the car will and won't do.
Snetterton for instance. Barrier city, now I know my car better i could go quite well there within a few Laps! All because of the airfield day!

If you have done work or mods on your car it's surely better to go where it's safe to find out what works than a place where a crash can lead directly to a barrier, Peter is a veteran trackday driver, god knows what trackdays I've been to but I've seen enough offs to know im not immune.

The main thing is Daz get out there and enjoy, I know you have big family commitments at the mo but it will charge you up for the task anyway. I'm sure you could russle a team of chaps to help in the pits. Go on get that 350 thundering. You still got two air filters. If so Im coming along just to hear it up the straight. I'll check your tyre pressures all day for a ride, lol lol

Hold on a mo,,,,, I'm walking into a trap here, I'm trying to get you enthused and I end up rattling around in mine again!

I've clicked the link, seen the track layout and got the Feck outa there! it's brill.

It's a battle. House to do up and move out of, trackdays Yee ha, house crumbles! I live in st.

Ok I dare'nt look but you can Daz, find the best deal on whatever day at Blyton and we'll see if we can get a support team and a few others maybe to take part if you like, I really enjoy other tiv's there, you really feel the love, lol lol lol.

Well except when Peter wants to get past, oh this is fun,
No I saw him in my mirror instantly pulled out the way and saw him disappear again. Complete and correct set of circumstances really. Your not going to invite him are you,

I dream of holding onto him long enough to find his braking/ turn in points, trouble is I wake up in a sweat after having dreamt I was going straight off! Lol lol lol lol.

Peter complete and utter respect old boy.

Daz your a bugger I'm all buzzed up because that Blyton place has had me looking since the day I bought my car, seems along time ago now.

Deep down i want to get good brakes and tyres, new ecu, bushes and drop links all sorted before I get into it but things are freaking quiet on the delivery side of my business, that's my pocket money so it's all ground to a halt. The car looks great but I've had cart chassis snap, seat bars snap, wheel bearing collapse, brand new they were, it's taught me to re build everything. I just like to then I feel it's all my own fault if something goes wrong. Err I hav'nt lifted a spanner on this car really, all Doms work but it's an attitude more than anything. Any fking way get it booked and I'm bound to give in and do it. Chripps this pistonheads is expensive.

My mate seems to think he could get the water jets opened up at Bruntinthorpe, fancy a morning drifting! Great to sort out your slides! He mentioned it to me one time. I'll find out if he was dreaming!
