I quite agree to the point where I've not followed them in a few years. I still have an epic rare vinyl collection of their stuff but they seemed to lose it after violator.
Does this mean Gahan is back on the gak as he's at his best when on, or coming off, the gear.

There does seem to be quite a few references to break up's on the album though - I'm never too sure whether its a break up with smack though lol
i've got pretty much evrything they've done in one format or another...and as an album, it's better than all the others. Every single track draws you in (bar the Gore vocalled one) It's like they all start as usual, but when the hook kicks in the songs elevate.
And Gahan is flexing his vocals more than I've heard before

music for the masses and black celebration were fantastic.violator elevated them further.songs of faith and devotion is still one of the greatest albums ever recorded and i may be in a minority here but ultra is right up there with it.it's fair to say though that since ultra things have plateaued a bit.exciter was solid and playing the angel too but delta machine so far feels like a step backwards.

Right .....given it a few more listens back to back with sounds of the universe and it is growing on me more.i cant see it being the sort of album like intriguer by crowded house that is a slow burner that you appreciate gradually over a number of months but it is a good effort none the less

As a Mode fan, I have to say that this Delta (Money Making) Machine offering is a load of poo. In fact nothing they have churned out since Ultra has been up to much. A few good tracks here and there but nothing like the depth and range of harmonies as found on Violator. Delta Machine has one good track - Should Be Higher - which is very similar to Higher from SOFAD. I'm not enjoying the songs, the melodies, the lyrics and DG's voice has lost it's power to my ear.

Always been a Mode fan and this album, like most of them for me, take a while to get under my skin, once there they tend to stick and i really like them.
Really looking forward to seeing them at the LG arena next January, had to miss the show of last tour and sell the tickets to a mate.
