Canon 600D - What's gone wrong!?
Discussion
After six months of problem free photographing, I'm having a problem with my Canon 600D and / or the 18-55mm IS kit lens.
The camera shoots photos in manual focus on the lens but will not shoot when set to autofocus (how I have had it set since day one). When focusing via pressing the shutter button half down the lens clicks a bit but doesn't move and will not focus, thus will not release the shutter. This leads me to believe that it's a lens issue, not a camera issue.
Quick and obvious fix or have I knackered the lens?
Cheers!
A whole twenty minutes on and it's sorted. A very quick DIY fix, if a little archaic. A gentle tug and the focus ring away from the camera has seemed to free it up. Now fully functional again.
