Very nice, the first time I've seen one with cream/ivory interior. V12s usually seemed to end up with the cheaper colours for some reason.

I didn't realise they did that one with a 12. TBH I'm surprised at the cost - V8 ones are shed money for that age, and that's mainly down to the running costs. Those are criminally undervalued though. This looks like a lovely, lovely car.

Might have been a shed load of money, but they're none too common and with that mileage... and I presume everything about the car is pristine and its one of the better looking SWB cars. I bet your over the moon.

My car dealer pal had exactly the same car a few years back as his own car,it was fantastic and genuinely felt as though there was nothing going on under the bonnet,in a good way.
Effortlessly capable of decent performance,eerily silent and un-fussed at the same time.

It`s not expensive but money well spent.
The op has decided that his enjoyment is worth the 10k then who is to argue with that?
Having experienced such a machine and if he is after wafting then I`d agree with him.
If you look under `wafting` in the dictionary there`s a picture of a V12 jag XJ.

Glad you like it guys. I have been waiting a couple of years for the right one to come along.

This will actually be my second one. I had a 1993 XJ40 model in 2006/2007. Used that for about 18 months as my only car though whereas this will be a second car.

yours is very nice but if you say" double six" I think of these .

I was at Jaguar watching them being built on the line. I remember that the straight six cars had the drive train, the wheels, brakes et al pushed up from underneath he car and four men attached the ensemble to the body shell. It was naturally called the "stuffing up department". Then a V12 arrived, and four extra men appeared. The V12 could only go in from above, and it took a lot of work from a lot of men to install it.

I feel jealous, always having wanted one. Compared to some, for what you have bought I don't in the slightest find it dear, and I'd advise you to buy Octane with the comparison of the Mercedes 300SL 6.3 and the Daimler 66. The Daimler naturally won. You will love the smoothness of the engine (remember to keep the antifreeze topped up), the quality of the nappa leather, the sheer silence of the car, and I wish you well.

I wish you well, too. That looks a lovely piece of kit and I think you are right about the money aspect - why leave it doing nothing, only to be taxed or robbed by increasingly desperate governments.
I've only ever seen those wheels on a 6 litre XJS like mine.

Only 22,000 miles with a full history to back it up, it also appears to be the long wheelbase version or maybe all Daimlers had the extended chassis?

I imagine in 20 years time that will be a very collectable car.
