A call to the PH classic car massive here. Am wanting to but a gear lever from either a Rover SD1 or MG RV8. If anyone can help please PM me.

Is that the same as a five speed TR7? If so then I have one but I'm sure there will be plenty kicking about closer to home.

who was the other bloke that used to do MG V8 conversion parts, his mother done the filing of all the customer history filing

Thanks Gents, must call Clive Wheatley though not sure if he'll have one. The Rover used the LT77 'box, same as the Triumphs, but not sure if the Triumph lever will fit the R380 'box which is going into the MGB mated to a TVR V8. There are some for sale on fleabay but they're often truly shagged; hence the call.

So the search continues...can anyone help?

thanks nigel, the issue is i really need the sd1 lever to mod, or, the rv8 mod'ed lever...these of course are like the roverbially rocking horse! will keep searching and i'm sure ebay will ome up with the goods; but it would great if a fellow ph'er had one to go to a good home...the v8 bruiser project thumbup

now you're just being awkward biggrin

it seemed to me that V8 SD1 owners usually had a few of the model so they had their own supply of parts, that might have changed over the last few years tho' but I'd be asking them and the club

lots of BL/Rover dealerships seemed to container load sell off their parts stock so some stock got dissipated through parties interested in another marque, models

you can bet there's a small or large shed somewhere with the parts you want hidden away - there used to be a chap with just such NOS parts from the 70s that I'd only seen advertise twice but sorry I've no longer the details
