I am running out of room. Couldn't resist this though!

It has been stood for 10 years, so needs a lot of re-commisioning. New brakes, shox etc. It has a tasty engine. 3.8 with straight port head, triple webers, tubular exhaust manifolds, race spec apparently.
Stripped out the interior today and removed the cam covers etc for polishing. Also removed the grille and headlights to go to the chromers.
Felt a bit strange working in the garage at home! But the workshop is full of my '48 Ford F1 Hotrod. And customers bikes.
More news as it progresses.....

I built a new one many years ago. Fantastic things with a really strong chassis. Phil Street was running the company at that time.
Is that the one that was advertised on Car and Classic recently ? If it's the same car I reckon you got a real bargain.
I like them best with wire wheels. Kougar used to charge a fortune for the wire wheels as they were different offset front and rear but I found a cheaper way of doing it using off the shelf wheels.

Wonderful car, but carry a puncture can since there is no spare wheel! The rights are now owned by Simon Dunford I seem to recall. Many happy miles and smiles fellah. Oh, and you do know that FOU in French means totally mad?
Why do you think I chose the no plate (before the name on here)!
Je m'en fou!

That looks excellent fun. I assume Jag engined from the size?
The Kougars were designed around Jaguar mechanicals and originally used an S type (the old one) as a donor. Other Jags could be used but the rear suspension then had to be narrowed accordingly.Almost all of them had the straight 6 XK engine.
At least one was built with a V12 jag and Phil Street, who owned the company for a while , certainly built one or two with a V8 American motor.

As requested a few more pics.
Triple webers to drool over.....

Homecoming?

Interior before stripping..

Interior after....

Can't make up my mind about the wheels....

So all the chroming and polishing bits are off. Need a new exhaust cam cover as the old one is fubar'ed - not really weldable. Steering column is crooked, wierdly. Radiator is poor as is the cooling fan. Carbs need a clean out and new lines and pump.
It is a "race spec" engine allegedly. Powermax pistons, flowed head, L14(?) cams, lightened flywheel etc. Should be good for about 285bhp - Jaguar were always a bit optimistic with quoted outputs due to the figures being "net"
I'll do a bit more tomorrow...

Never knew these were made in TWells...learn something new every day.
Only ever saw one in 1982 - owned by Mike Fell who did some motorsport around the 'Wells, and followed him through Hildenborough one Saturday morning (frightening the locals).
Have seen more since - most recently at least two at Goodwood on Sunday.
Great piece of kit!
