New noise! Left rear broken springy type noise.

I love my 997 with a passion, but it's ability to throw up interesting new noises just when you've fixed the last one is grateing just a little!

My latest noise sounds like a broken bedspring. It comes from the rear left of the car when setting out - either from cold, or from the traffic lights. It makes its noise once and then all is fine again. It's not persistent - might happen one day, and not the next.

Anyone got any good clues on this - I'd rather not send it back to opc if it's something that can wait till the next service. It's a 2006 c4s if it makes any odds.

Oh and thank you for all the expert advice on here. It makes owning one of these thing so much easier!

I had a 996 GT3 MkII that did that ...

Particularly when reversing into tight parking spaces ...

Could be a dry bush. Next time it does it spray the area well with a hose pipe and see if it stops.

In the case of a GT3 it was probably the lsd you could hear.
