Hi all,
I need a new battery, ive tried the one thats in my car and it doesnt seem to have enough grunt by itself, if I run my engine then its enough, since my car is a diesel I thought it would have enough umph to do it, so I was wondering what sort I would need.

thanks Aaron

Bump. Try the website www.tayna.co.uk, i forget the number now but it must fit the tray and not be too high as to foul the bonnet, and have the correct terminal position. Someone will be along soon with all the info and maybe put it in the Wiki.

If your diesel whatever won't start it I'd think there is a problem elsewhere unless it was just connected by some crappy jump leads ?

Think an 072 is about the right size but you'll also need to check it's got the right "lumps and bumps" to suit your clamping arrangement (and fit in the tray) and that + and - are in the right corners

Before I moved mine to the boot I seem to recall a little issue with a mounting lug possibly along the long side stopping it sitting in the tray? Some batterys have these and some don't scratchchin
Think the short term fix was some thick rubber mat underneath.

I'm probably over complicating things but if you compare this battery the terminals are opposite, this can be a problem if cables are tight.

Mine used to have a Saab battery in it which is ironic as neither of my Saabs do! It died last autumn, can't remember what I replaced it with but will check tomorrow.

Really?

I'd have been looking at 630 or so cca...

330 seems a weedy output

This is what I fitted to the Chim last week (needed a battery in a hurry and Halfords was open).

I have an 072 on the S too.

It's expensive (it's Halfords) but that's the right sort of output

http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/...
