Clutch Release Bearing

Have noticed a fairly prominent 'whirring' noise at idle when the clutch is up, depressing the clutch the noise goes away. Is this a clutch release bearing issue? Clutch was done 2000 miles ago! Also the clutch pedal sometimes depresses itself by 1/4 inch or so when driving, is this a fluid issue?

Sounds like it, you really wouldn't change it just for a noise.

Does the noise suggest the bearing is on the way out and will need replaced soon or they are just noisy no matter what? Don't remember hearing it when I first bought the car.
