So, I needed petrol yesterday and the pump I pulled up at didnt have any super. After reading a recent thread on here about using super or normal I decided to put the first drop of normal unleaded in the car since Ive owned it.

I havent noticed any drop in performance and ether the gauge is fecked or I am driving like a girl but it seems to be using less petrol compared to Optimax.

Any truth in this or should I just be trying harder?) smile

I find this, tend to use it if I'm going to be doing a long motorway journey. Sounds better on 95 too, though I feel obliged to use 97 or above the majority of the time. Not sure why though to be honest.

Yeah odd isn't it. If I used it all the time I guess I would probably use normal unleaded more.

I do 300 miles a week at the moment, put all sorts of fuel in it. Seems to run best on Morrisons. I'm sure somebody will list several reasons why this is a wrong, but that's what I've found and It tends to give about 30 mpg with 'spirited' B road driving.
