It depends what you need. Sonos will give you a full multiroom system that will play music from your PC or Spotify where as Bose just make iPod docks that sit in the corner of one room.
Sonos is brilliant, but can become quite addictive as you start to add music zones in rooms you never realised you needed them!
I have a Bluetooth Bose SoundLink to use in hotel rooms whilst travelling but the Sonos units blow it away in terms of flexibility and sound quality for home use.

Firstly and just to be clear I am really not a fan of Bose stuff, but the comment above is just rubbish.Bose do make, and have been making, multi room audio systems for a lot longer than Sonos.
Personally I would use Sonos amps and then add other speakers as for the money I don't really rate the play3,5 or sound bar. There was a thread the other day where people were discussing a 5.1 system made of Sonos kit, which I would never do personally but if it suits someone else then why shouldn't they.
Go and listen to both and speak to experts in both, don't base your buying decision on my opinion, or those of people who think Bose only make iPod docks.

Sorry, you are right of course. I once used a Bose multiroom system and the operation was so unintuitive that I must have blanked it's existence from my mind completely!Bose do make, and have been making, multi room audio systems for a lot longer than Sonos.
If it is a choice between one of those and the Sonos, the Sonos wins every time.
I was helping out a friend yesterday who's a proper techy nerd, and building an entire home automation system.
Anywhooo, they have Sonos in their house, and I'm really sold on it now. The sound from even the Play:3 is really surprisingly good.
So, for the new house, not Sonos for the TV, as that's too expensive, but I will get a Play:5 and 2 x Play:3 for other parts of the house.
