I've just returned from a blat around Wales, all great fun with great weather to boot. On the return leg something hit the windscreen, but I assumed it was debris from another car. Upon returning home and seeing a smashed headlight lens, it clicked to what it must have been.

I've currently got SVC 5 3/4" chrome headlights with uprated Philips bulbs.

Now I need to replace one lens and the reflector on the other side is corroded, so both sides need tending to one way or another.

I've heard good press on the Cibie H130 units. Any experience?

As I understand it, these sit within the headlamp bowl just fine and are worth an upgrade.

The PRB and Birkin lads in Oz whilst we were living there all swear by them and have nothing but :claps: to say for them.

Given there's a fair few hundred to perhaps 1,000 PRB's that should tell you something…good!

Trouble is the lights are so low to the ground you still can't see far enough ahead, same problem I have even with uprated bulbs.

Maybe put them up on stalks rolleyes

Not sure about there being 1000 PRB's Mine is number 102 and is the second last tube/honeycomb chasis made before they went full composite. I think there are only 30 or so of those around also.
Anyway , re the Cibie's. They are great. I run mine with hi quality Philips bulbs and never have i thought they could do with an upgrade. Look the part also and not too big. Worth the money.

Fitted the new Cibie inners today into my 5 3/4" lights, from SVC I believe. Not a tight a fit as the originals. I had to bend the 3 clips slightly to enable them to fit securely in. Not tried at night yet though, so I'll report back.
