Hi all,
Seems I have turned into a big reader of books on engine construction. I receive a couple of monthly publications (Super Chevy -- GM High Tech Performance) and have picked up a couple of other text books along the way.
What books/mags do y'all recommend for an education on construction and the internal workings of the SBC? Who was that, "Grumpy Yanik" or something?
Other than the few websites, are there any resources for the G50? Any CDs with shop manuals, exploded views, etc.?
Thanks,
-- Scott

John Lingenfelter (late) on modifying small-block chevy engines.ISBN 1-55788-238-X.
How to build Max performance Chevy small blocks on a budget. David Vizard. ISBN 1-884089-34-8
The other guy is 'Smokey Yunick'. 'Smokey Yunick's Power Secrets'' said to be very good but i've not seen his books.
I have 2 other books which are not aimed at performance but did help me understand some of the basics of the SBC which the first 2 assumed you knew.
How to rebuild your small-block chevy. David Vizard. ISBN 1-55788-029-8.
Haynes Techbook Chevrolet Engine overhaul manual. ISBN 1-85010-762-9.
David Vizard was a brit and 'THE' expert on mini and 'A' series engines here in the UK before he moved to the states.
You should also check out Chevytalk forum. The moderator is a guy calling himself 'Grumpyvette'. Not much he does'nt know about the small and big blocks. This forum was my mainstay whilst designing the specification for my engine build. Real nice guys (like the Ultima forum) and more than willing to help.

Any others out there? I will be checking out the local Barnes & Noble tomorrow (huge bookstore).
