After watching several clips on this vulcan is it possible to replace our old Tuscan Speed 6 engine and replace it with the Vulcan? Damn it sounds lethal!

Can't see why not, would be even better if straight 6 put it into production some how.
Modern TVR with V8 sounding like that, heavenly.

I am going to ring St8Six up and ask for the costage. Noticed that the shell still had the Tuscan logo so I pressume it's never been labelled the VULCAN. Shame Mr Smolenski didn't keep the faith.

It's rediculous a decent buisness man couldn't keep this afloat with a good buisness model.

Long live TVR!

Kind of says it all that he is using the brand for wind farms, and tried to sell diesel TVR's, but the Vulcan did turn out rather special.

Iam sure Jason would give you a cost for this,
must say as the owner the power and sound is fantastic
went to Essex TVR meet sunday and the guy following my car could not get over our good it sounded
Their are some out their who think its a bad idear to swap the sp6 for LS
but we all had yanks in our Griffs Wedges Ect so why not the LS in our Tuscans Ect
You wont be disapointed if you go the LS route

Cheers

So Braders - You are the lucky one who has this car - I Spoke to Str8Six and will get me a price soon. Any chance you uploading the Vulcan badge that was made specially for you car? I guess the LS is the Corvette sound. A mixture of a TVR and Ferrari engine binded in one! Pure orgasmic sound.

I have sat in this car when Craig at Dyno Torque installed the engine and gearbox, he also fabbed the headers for it.
It was then taken away to be finished off, niceto see it got completed.

its tighter than the griff, but LS fits in the t chassis without any chassis mods.

Ah - but is it a TVR...that is the question. A Tuscan with a Chevy V8 and a new badge, what stops any TVR Tuscan owner doing this and then to be told it is no longer a TVR.

Especially when you consider how other Russian billionaires invest in premiership football clubs! returning a profit isn't shall we say all they are interested in.

Just got called back from Jason who was a pleasure to talk to. Price up to get it to the V8 ENGINE - LS3 is......................... £20k

As much as I love the sound I can't justify paying that. I guess the Speed 6 will do for now plus it keeps my Tuscan being a TVR and not a Corvette Tuscan!

TVR died because there was no business model at the price folk would pay.

The modified Tuscan (Vulcan) is a very well rebuilt car, attention to detail awesome. For me, the sign of a good transplant/series of mods.....

It looked like it was always intended to have been that way.

Super looking car.

It's almost impossible to make something hand built for less than machine built. To make it equal or better is impossible. It was always going to end up in the 21st century being more expensive than the rivals and not as well built as the factory refused to modernise. As such 'brand' would be everything to achieve sales in that tricky zone and TVR's brand was 'bang 4 buck' the exact thing they could no longer be.

In a way the factory followed all man powered factories of the early 20th century by refusing to modernise and so removing themselves from the competitive market through both quality and pricing. Just look at the factories that have managed to survive, they have either adopted 21st century practices or rely on a 'premium' brand to mask the 20th century practices.

The LS Tuscan is a great product and Jason looks to have reworked that very nicely indeed but if this was all priced up from scratch you are looking at a hugely expensive product due to UK labour costs and the number of hours needed.

I was in conversation with the chap who originally ordered and spec'd my car and he said a huge issue along with many others at the end was that NS actually ran some numbers on the cars and realised that the £85k price PW had thought up was an enormous loss and that £135k was the breakeven and the eventual Typhon price.

20 Grand sounds about right, at last some people posting commercial cost of installing a new LS engine in a T car,
dont forget the car is worthless once converted

20k sounds cheap - I think parts alone will be 13-15k so only 5k labour isn't bad considering the work that will need to go into the conversion.

I guess a Tuscan with an engine in need of a rebuild would be the best starting point for a project like this. Was the price you were quoted as an exchange for your existong engine?
