OK so after taking the sum and front cover off again! not sure if i should use a cork gasket again or not.

It was originally sealed with black sealant, i then fitted a cork one with some clear silicon, but i think ive distorted the sump pan where the bolts go through by tightening too much.

So do i just try and straighten it and fit the cork again or use the black stuff only?

lol

I used one of the fibre gaskets off Ebay with Hylomar on both sides. I did it up quite tightly and it didn't squeeze out like the cork or rubber gaskets. I also purchased some new bolts and springwashers, together with a spreader plate for the rear two bolts. Got them from Rimmer Bros.

I had better results with a proper sump sealing silicon rather then a gasket.

I think most people will swear by what ever works for them. I'm not a big fan of liquid gaskets. I make too much mess and am never sure of the consistency!
