£35 for an hour in their cars or for a day of tuition it's £195 all in a bargain

VXR Track Experience - £35 per person
Come along and drive the fantastic Astra VXR, Corsa VXR Nurburgring and rest of the VXR Range!
Book your 1 hour session of track time with ARDS trained instructors including a hot lap to show you how the professionals do it.
Choose one of many sessions per day at 2 locations and depending on your choice of session, Breakfast or Lunch is included.

(Open to all)

VXR Performance School - £195 per person
Back by popular demand! Take your track driving skills to the next level with one-on-one tuition in a track prepared Corsa VXR on both Oulton Park and Thruxton. Just you and your instructor for a full 3½ hour session, learn how to brake, corner, accelerate and position yourself on circuit to make your drive smoother and faster.
The aim of this session is to improve your track driving as a step-up from the standard Track experience. The session is not designed to progress to advanced track driving, nor further a motorsport career. Race licence theory and practical elements will not be covered.

Prerequisites:- You must be a VXR, Performance Vauxhall and V8 owners and can not have previously taken part in VXR Performance School

I'm booked on the £35 session on 4th July at Oulton. 10am.

You don't need to be a VXR owner for the £35 sessions.

That half day price is an absolute bargain. Shame I don't have and probably never will have a VXR.

'Up to 1hr on the track' - and that includes familiarisation laps...
I wonder what their people / cars ratio is.

Btw, why on earth do they say 'up to 1 guest'? Does it not just mean one guest? 'Up to' syndrome alive and kicking, it seems.

Last year it was groups of 30 with 30 cars available most of the time (sometimes one or two would go off for fuel or rubber etc)

Hardly any waiting tbh

Previously these days were sold as 1/2 day events for £95 and they were great.

It's a great introduction to track driving but if you are an experienced 'peddler' get a track day somewhere else.

I'd suggest if you are a serious peddler you get yourself down for the £195 Performance School as the tuition would be worth that alone, never mind the fact that you are burning someone else's tyres/fuel, the Corsa's that they use are "track prepped" to a certain degree, normally a cage, AP brake setup, set of TD wheels with track day rubber etc

The £95 1/2 day went 2 years ago - ultimately it was costing nearly £500 per head for Vauxhall to run it

Yes, it was actually over £100 and I managed to do just 36 track miles, hence asked

You still only got an hour of track time with that - it was just the day was filled with other items such as Go Karting/off road experience/Westfield experience etc
There was also more queuing with that system than we had on the current set up tbh

Just booked on the 8.45am session at Oulton (4th July)

Hopefully I can use the Astra, as I really want to see how it compares to my RS.

You'll manage to get some time in all of them - the Astra was only in the country a week before Rockingham last year and I still managed 3 different Astra's with x3 or more laps iirc

Rule is no chit chat until afterwards - then you can have a free coke and mull it all over smile, just make sure you get a hot lap in with the BTCC drivers (normally in marked out black cars) certainly an eye opener

I've booked myself onto the 7.30 session on 3rd July. Does anyone know if they'll use the International or the Fosters circuit?

Previously it was the full circuit at Oulton and last year it was a full circuit at Rockingham so I'm expecting the same this time

Plenty of cars also - this is a shot the official photographer got of me about to set off in the red one (there would have been a same amount of cars in the corsa, nurburgring Corsa and also the Insignia sections)
