At the Grand Designs Show at the weekend in London. I was very impressed with a company called Diamond AV that do flatscreen TVs that are hidden within a framed mirror. This may be the solution that I am looking for in hiding the TV when not in use.
Has anyone here got one as I am looking for advice as to how well it works in the home.

Not seen one myself, but had customers tell me picture quality isn't anywhere near as good as a current LED, more like an old cheap LCD

I'm sure there was a thread some months ago about this very topic....

I wasn't convinced it would work, apparently it does.

I'll have a dig around.

I would say they are fine for "occasional" rooms, where you might want a TV you don't use very often to be very discreet. For regular viewing the picture is no where near a TV without a pretend mirror in front of it for failry obvious reasons. Sound is also dire unless you have external speakers.

Personally, I would look at a lift or drop mechanism, or a sliding panel so that the TV when you want to wathc it isn't having its performance compromised by a piece of pretend mirro in front of it.
