Emergency boot release

I just realised that my original post may have been a little too explicit for a public forum (even though it's now a bit of an open secret), so I'll try again.
Having done some minor work on my '98 Griff, I noticed that the emergency boot release isn't where it should be, and no sign that there ever was one. Does anyone know if there is an alternative position to that stated in the 'bible', or if TVR stopped fitting one at all?
