Becoming an Actuary? Thoughts/Feedback?
Discussion
Hi All,
Mrs P is looking at a career change- she's particularly bright and numerate (a science PhD and a statistics Msc should indicate that), and looking for something with better prospects than her current career.
Could any actuaries on here give their thoughts? Whats the job like on a day to day basis, usually dull or quite rewarding? are you always stuck behind a desk? what's the stress level and working hours like?
More importantly is age 32 with a 6 month old baby a bad idea to think of a career change?
Any thoughts much appreciated.
