Got a bit of a problem with my 964 Turbo.
The car cranks, eventually smells of fuel but won't fire.
The problem is a bit intermittent. Sometimes it fires and is fine. Today the fecker won't go.
I've spoke to Hamilton and Palmer who make the alarm and they think it is unlikely to be the immobiliser.
Anyone got any ideas?

Cheers

Can you bypass the alarm system? If you can and it runs there is your fault?
It could be a wire that is loose and earthing out on the car. Is the fuel pump working as it should?

Have you checked the DME relay?

There's none of that fancy new fangled DME magic in a 964 turbo.

Some years back it was suggested to me by a garage that the immobiliser is not reliable in the long term. Never had a problem with mine or heard of anyone else having a problem so I suspect that they were just trying to pull a fast one.

Can't offer anything constructive myself. This any good ...
