Coast And Castles - Northumberland

My G/f has just got a road bike for her birthday and we are looking to do the coast and castle route from Edinburgh to Newcastle in July / August.

I wondered if anyone has completed this route and can offer any advice on sctions not suitable for road bikes and possible diversions?

We plan to do around 30 miles a day and complete the route over 5 days using BnB / hotels. Any accomodation reccomendations would be appreciated as well!
