Lambda sensor - is this normal?

I've just changed the manifolds on my Griff over, and when switching the lambda from one to the other, one of them looks like this. It's different to the other side, the top seems to be missing. Is this just a different style of sensor, or as I suspect has it been broken at some point?

ETA the butchering with a pair of pliers was done before I owned it so it has definitely been removed before.

Mine appears to have a white ceramic looking top when servicing the exhaust manifold. FUBAR what the h..l is that? Sorry, too many b...dy abreviations on PH sometimes!

The tip is missing either the pre-cat as shifted/broken up and sheared the tip off or someone as been roughly handling it that dent did not get there by itself that one is knackered

The pre cat on that side had broken out of the manifold and was loose, so I suspect that is what has happened, though I have no idea where the tip has gone, I've certainly not found it.

It will be sitting on top of the main cat probably located easily with your hand through one of the Y piece's 2 openings
