Alfa 156 2.4JTD Suspension

Am the proud owner of the updated 2.4JTD Lusso, engine is fantastic, but suspension isn't great. After reading through some of the posts it seems like the Lusso setup can't handle the 2.4 lump - has anyone tried changing the setup to something else? Its not a problem on the motorway, but around town (especially speed humps) it gets annoying.
First port of call is a strut brace. £100 from your friendly dealer. Bit less for the same (Momo) item from Demon Tweeks or similar. It makes a BIG difference.
