There are some good value cars out there at the minute, have prices dropped since I last looked a year or so ago? 8/9K seems to get you a well looked after high miler....(mileage doesn't bother me).

I think prices may have softened slightly recently, but we are probably due the summer premium any time now. Agreed though, there are some very nice sub 10k cars out there, especially if you're happy with a 4.0. smile

Ahh i thought this was a thread about a charity race pushing a chimaera smile

i think prices creeping up.

makes my 97 450 with 32k bought last July for £7750 look a bargain. Modified so may be why cheaper but mainly engine and induction, chip etc. Outriggers, chassis good for another 5 years+ according to RT racing. Very happy.

its definitely in my sub 15K future classic stable (purely hypothetical at this stage, two kids to educate first).....having run one for a few years they are quite unique in their experience and that is my point.

Currently I have a Jag XJC Manual, Austin 7, Citreon DS, Lotus Elan 2+2 OR 911. I reckon you could do all this for 50K and never be left wanting for automotive experience!

Let me know if you fancy potentially swapping the DS for a Chimaera. I would love a DS, on my mental cars to own at some point list.

I'm sure the OP would be more than happy to swap his hypothetical DS for your real Chimaera. wink

hypothetical indeed sorry. can't make my mind up on selling the unused vintage Lagonda to build a small stable of driving 'experiences' or keep it for senimentality sake (it was my late fathers and has been in the family 60 years).

Nice thing to have, especially with the history. Tough choice. I would be too scared to drive it in case it got damaged. Sell it to a museum, at least you know it will be looked after and admired. I wouldn't feel bad about that.
