Used 50D - What lens?
Discussion
Guys,
About to upgrade to my first SLR, think I am going to go for a 2nd hand Canon 50D.
What lens would make a good universal one? I don't want to break the bank.
I also like wide-angle shots, is it worth getting a cheap wide angle lens as well?
Or am I better just going for a 600d kit with a cash back deal?

Ooh tricky one! 50D was very well liked in its day but getting a bit long in the tooth now - I'd probably just go for the 600D + kit lens but others would disagree I suspect
(BTW - the kit is 18-55 and would be acceptably wide angle for most scenes so I would just start with that and take it from there. A possible upgrade would be the Sigma 10-20 - it's good and cheap).

Bought a s/h 50D a few weeks ago (moving up from an xxxD body) - wow what a difference! My standard lens is the rather well liked 15-85 Canon. 15 is edging into UWA territory and 85 gets you a little bit into portrait territory.About to upgrade to my first SLR, think I am going to go for a 2nd hand Canon 50D.
