Anyone know what car the brake light switch is from on a 99 Chim?

I need to try and get one from a local electrical factors in the morning as car is going for re test rather than order one online which wont be here till Monday.

Many thanks to anyone who can help.

Had this problem recently, nobody seems to know. I bought one for a mini and it was just slightly too small. It's not Ford, Vauxhall or Rover.

I had to just wait for delivery in the end.

Hi, what is the issue with the original switch as they can be dismantled and repaired if you are careful. Mine stopped working and it just needed the internal contacts cleaning.

Worth squirting some WD40 into it through a straw, worth a try.

Take your switch into a half decent motor factor shop and they can probably match to one in stock. As long as the length of the switch and the shaft width is the same it should work. Well mine did wink

I replaced mine with the Peugeot one.A bit of fidding around was required but it worked in the end. I was told the original one is no longer available. A cheap fix though for once !!

Hi Guys

Many thanks for all of your replies.

This morning I stripped the switch down and cleaned the contacts and bent the copper contact on the plunger a little and it seems to work fine, at least good enough to get it through its MOT today while I obtain one from Clever Trevor.

I was surprised that they are only £3.30.
