Bought a new fuel tank level sender from Racing Green today - my existing one is faulty in that it doesn't register above 3/4 full as anything other than empty and the new one should be the correct sender for my new gauges.

Anyway - does anyone know what "type" the oval 2 pin connector that is on the new sender is? It's a different connector to my old sender so I need to get the "female" part to add to my existing loom. (The old sender appears to be just wired with spade terminals.)

Cheers

Phil

Actually I may have just the connector for you.

Are you tunnelling tomorrow?

  • chuckle* Nah - I was thinking I might but didn't want to hit central London until I had my cooling system done and I only got the bits yesterday...
I'm gonna try trawling the 'net for what it is tonight... smile

It looks like a cheap version of an "AMP Superseal" ... ordered a couple (need to use one to test it with the new fuel gauge) so let's see if it fits right.

That's what I was trying to say Phil.

"I'VE GOT ONE OF THOSE".

Comes with 8ft of cable too, it's from my spare EMA Multivalve.

It's yours if you want it biggrin

  • chuckle* Thanks - yes - I'd guessed you meant you had one ... I'd assumed probably from your loom when you changed your tank and sender though.
I really needed to get myself the proper connector though as I'm *TRYING* not to make my loom any more patched / spliced up as possible and I also have a few doubts that the AMP Superseal actually is the correct connector as it looks like it has a couple of red tabs either side of the connector that might stop it mating with the sender connector ... anyway, thanks for the offer fella.

You back from TitT already then?

Suspect I also need a new sender unit as the gauge aint moving at all.
Sender has 3 wires all spade connectors, blue, red n black and turquiose n black and a 4th black probably an earth to a bolt.

It could be the guage of course but if it aint, where can I get a replacement part.

Cheers
