Hello, Just picked up a Chimaera that I just bought - very happy with it but the driver's seat is stuck and won't budge.

The lever moves up and to the right - but the seat won't slide.

Any fixes you might know of?

If not, any idea how to remove the seat so I can overhaul the mechanism?

Many thanks.

Seriously if your seat doesnt move its either stuck at the furthest point back or theres something wrong with the guide rail there are 4 13mm nuts 2 under car rear of seat and two front of guide rail take seat out check retaining spring and that the rails are parallel and flush no dents or knocks smear lithium grease down the rails and test
be careful putting the front two back not to lose the nut back down the rail

You are probably best taking the seat out, it takes 5 minutes, the front 2 nuts ar eon studs so just unwind, the back 2 are loose bolts and nuts so you may need to wedge a screwdriver onto the bolt head to stop it spinning.

It's so basic under there I'm sure when the seat is out its going to be obvious what's wrong.

When replacing the seat I use copious amounts of silicone/mastic on penny washers to seal the holes, then wipe it around the nut, stud and washer when all tight. You don't want any excuse for water to get in.

Gents

Many thanks. I am most grateful for the advice. I will have that taken care of.

I'm going to start a new thread on things to get done to the car it having been sitting for a year.

Update

Took the car in today for the 5 minute job. 5 HOURS later I drove away.

The bolts had corroded and had to be cut out. The seat runners were rusted and completely stuck. It was a mess down there.

Upside - we found £1.30 in coins......

All now sorted......
