Hi All
Sorry if this has been up before, I tried the search but it says its not working….

I got in the car today and find the headlining has come unstuck and dropped down frown I live in Dubai and its bloody hot as you can imagine so I guess thats whats caused it. Is it an easy fix, and if so any tips on how to get it out and what glue etc is best… or better getting it professionaly fixed?

Many thanks
Joe

I guess the heat out there can cause some problems that we'll never see in the UK. Is there no dealer that you can take it to?

I hope it is better than the instrument cowl. Mine had leather that had shrunk but there wasn't enough spare to be able to stretch it back over and glue it. So had to get a new one from the factory.

Hi Simon,
From what I have seen it's only a glue problem, to avoid too much sun I always leave my car under it's outdoor car cover when on the company car park.

I always use a sun visor for the windscreen and the windows are tinted with 3M to help stop the heat, but 20 mins with the sun on the car and the bodywork can be too hot to touch in the summer so that bleeds through to the inside too. With regard the leather on the dash I had to get that re trimmed and I now use a good leather conditioner on it every few weeks and so far so good…..

Now any tips or hints on the headlining removal etc….

Not seen anyone else do it before, and have searched for you. Hopefully someone on here will have some knowledge.

Thanks Neil, hopefully the alcantara does not seems to shrink so should re-glue quite easily, just need to find how to remove the headlining.
