Yet Another Wheel topic.
Discussion
On the way over to dropping off the Cerb for her service (bumped into Fubar while he was just picking his up). I figured i'd have the wheels balanced at a tyre specialist I trust and have used over the years, so 30 pounds and twenty minutes later a lad with a serious expression appeared to inform me one of the front wheels is buckled to a significant degree. Both rears are slightly buckled but not significantly.
My main problem is they are currently TSW Thruxtons that are no longer made, so its a case of a new set i figure.
I quite like not having standard wheels, but would like to make sure i have all the right information so i can figure out what the heck to replace them with.
Scanning the forums there seems to be debate on the details so is this correct?
PCD 114.3x5
Bore 72.1mm
Offset Front is 42 (18x8)
Offset Rear is 33 (18x9)
As these offsets are quite tricky to obtain is there any real downside to using spacers? Also suggestions for wheels are welcome.

That is interesting, currently the tsw i have on are 18x9.5 on the rears and i think 18x8 on the front.
I assumed the spiders were staggered fitments is this not the case then? Also what is the thinking in fitting a larger wheel to the same size Tyre.

Offset is a debateable issue,i have aftermarket wheels on mine, the fronts are 18X7J with 35 offset fitted with 215/35 tyres,i did have 225 on these rims but they were too wide and it distorted the sidewall. The rears are 18x9J 40 offset with 255/35 tyres. It can drive you mad reading these wheel forums and looking on wheel suppliers websites as you will never find a definative answer.

18" Spider Wheels are all 18X8,5" front ET42 and rear ET33.
The Cerberas produced from the end of 2002 use the front wheels also on the rear axle... so ET42 all round.

And have two spare ET42 fronts.
I put a serious dent in one of my rears a couple of weeks ago.
Question: can I put the spare fronts I have on the back of the car? Or do I need spacers?
You really should have fronts all round. So yes is the answer and no to spacers. I used to have fronts and rears and always suffered with the tyre hitting the arch. Not any more with all fronts.

Thanks Alistair, much appreciated.
Does anyone know what ETxx means? I sort of guessed it's an offset, is it in mm?

Cerberas post the rl7's only used Tuscan fronts all round. One or two cerbs have rears on the rear but I doubt many or any came from the factory like that.
Sept 2001 4.5 Spiders:-Front8.5 x 18 et42
Rear 8.5 x 18 et33
Making hard and fast statements about TVR construction can be a dangerous habit.
