Hi

Do any body know of a Cerbera specialist in the Bristol area?
A friend of mine has just got his out of storage after 2+ ears and it would appear the brakes are not working properly.

We have carried out the usual checks on fluid levels and sticky calipers etc, but so far to no avail.

He needs to take it some where to get it looked at where they know TVR's rather than the usual places dealing in euro box rep mobiles and the like.

I know Neil Garner at Kemble is an option but would prefer closer to home if at all possible, as the car would need to be taken there on a trailer .

Many thanks
Mark

Surely with brakes you don't need a cerb specialist??

Where do you have your Chimera serviced?
Forza west in Chepstow is a bit nearer I guess , not sure what they are like though.
What problems are you having with the brakes?

It's not my car, but the brakes are simply not working properly. The owner tells me they only feel about 20 - 30% of what they are supposed to be!
I'm told the servo is a pig of a job to get to/change so I (he) needs someone with a bit of TVR experience.
We tested the servo by the usual pumping the pedal then starting the engine and the pedal did sink away a bit, so that would suggest its working ok.
It's often tricky when trying to help/advise friends and I dont want to see him get shafted by a garage owner with Dry Teeth Syndrome!!;)

Changing the servo /brake master cylinder is a pain in the arse. I'm part way through it.

You can't really go wrong with neil garner, Forza west or colin @ tvrssw (ex dulfords)

Edited to add: I'm in Emersons green

Many thanks, I'll get him lined up with one of them, and he can hopefully get it sorted ready for selling.
Its a lovely example and only done 18K IIRC. Would almost be tempted myself except the roof dosen't come off!
Cheers

I can't really contribute in any useful way, just wanted to add that I also have a cerb in Bristol, it's nice to know there are a few. When I'm not on the wrong side of the world I'll sort out the rotten chassis on mine and hopefully meet up with some of you guys.

Hi
As I said it's not my car but the owner lives near W-o-T.
It's a really nice Blueish Green (Turquoise) colour.
It's been off the road for ages and I'm just trying to help him get it back up and running.
It's a 4.2 totally standard, and he bought it from new back in '96.

Yours is silver IIRC? I think I've seen it outside the curry house on Hotwell Road.
I live just around the corner from Yorkieboy.

Neil Garners got transporters and car trailers so pickup wouldn't be an issue.
